Kadia Doumbouya (BE) - Anamnèse
"Inspired by my dual Guinean and Belgian culture, I explore my memory, that of a body, my own, its nudity, through various media: painting, images and performance. I also question my multiple identities and their legitimacy. (...) All these attempts to appropriate or re-appropriate my body, my history, my person, influence my practice."
For several days, and on the evening of the opening, Kadia will occupy the vitrine, weaving scraps of wax, an inked fabric, marked by her history and that of a continent, imprinted with paterns charged with life, stitches and crying flowers. She'll join them all together to form a single thread, inviting you to watch as she reweaves wounds, joins forces and strengthens ties.
