Capsule Biohardcore (BE)

Chloé Schuiten, Clément Thiry and Antoine Boute work concretely, conceptually and narratively in sculpting « biohardcore » ways of being, not matching the current mortifying addiction to overconsumption, but - on the opposite - revolutionizing the hard-core of the bio, by a joyful and assertive use of the luxurious trashes of capitalism. Their productions take shape in experiences of life, books, performances, design of the waste, drawings, carnivals, posters, handouts, concerts,…

Clément Thiry
sings, draws and realises installations. He also performs nocturnal walks through the city to collect its under-lit spaces. Then, he builds nests in which he experiments sleep to revamp our everyday life. He wanders from embodying the « precarious architect » character to the « sleep-faller » one. He crafts by weaving and combining organic and industrial materials. He uses what he can find during his wanderings. Walking is an integral part of his practice. His delicate constructions are designed by addition, imprints and knots. What doesn’t stick is strengthen instead of being built again. He also takes part in the theater collective Boîte à clous and Gyrophare, a punk band for kids.

Chloé Schuiten
draws, writes, creates comic books, she tries out events and collective ways of being. Sometimes she crafts urgency and waste, or hosts « doing nothing in forest » workshops. The world in its current condition doesn’t fill her up. She wants to be part of it but by living in her own way. Obsessed by crumbs, by what’s lying around and unwanted, she gathers this pieces and uses these as basis materials to her creations. Her work also deals with wilder ways of being and relationships between men and animals. After setting up and co-hosting Le Maga gallery (Saint-Gilles) during three years, she is now involved in Le Lac (Brussels), a collective place where she lives.
