OCTOBER EN

We are happy to present you our next events :

SATURDAY 01.10.22 - OPENING

Confluences #3 : JAMEL BARBACH (BE) - LAST RESORT

Jamel Barbach (BE, 1989) will unveil Last Resort, a series of artworks produced during a three week residency at Les Brasseurs.

"In my opinion, it is the painting that becomes the subject and paradoxically, the image used is only the support. It is a guideline from which one must move away as soon as one gets too close. It is the work of the series that allows us to move away from it, to question ourselves with, each time, a new look and a different reading." J.B.

This project is part of CONFLUENCES.
Complementary to the monographic exhibitions' cycles, Les Brasseurs present new forms of collaborations, intra or extra muros, enabling the creation of original projects, motivated by driven meetings and exchanges with the artists.

Opening on Saturday October 01st from 6pm.
Exhibitions accessible from October 01st to October 22nd, from Wednesday to Saturday, 2-6pm.

Phil Maggi Encrimsoned Trio (Phil Maggi /Pavel Tchikov / Tom Malmendier)
Phil Maggi (BE, 1980) is a sound and visual architect since 2004. He is the founder of the band Ultraphallus, the electronic avant-pop project Iva Bedlam and also the singer/songwriter of Cities A.D.
Influenced by Sohrawardi, Ibn Arabi and Farid od'din Attar's Sufism, Phil Maggi's soundscapes evoke sacred music, ritual, devotion, which takes a form of convulsive and incantatory improvisation, thus paying a vibrant tribute to The Residents and their « theory of darkness » but also to the Imaginal, the "world of suspended forms", a concept dear to the French thinker and orientalist Henry Corbin, a great source of inspiration for the four compositions of "The Encrimsoned", Phil Maggi's new album which will be released on September 20, 2022 on Sub Rosa Records.
On October 8, he will present this new album as a trio with two members of the Qumrân Grounds improvisation collective: Tom Malmendier on drums and Pavel Tchikov on theremin and modular.
